WELCOME TO
CAT CARE SOCIETY

Warm greetings from Butters, official Welcome Cat of the Week

In 2001, Cat Care Society celebrated its 20th anniversary with the grand opening of a new state-of-the-art cageless shelter. Designed with the safety, health and well-being of our feline residents, as well as our shelter staff, volunteers, and visiting public, the CCS shelter is a model facility for future humanitarian housing of all companion animals.

Our atrium is brightly illuminated by skylights, taking advantage of Colorado's more than 300 days of sunshine per year. The cats love it. Open living space for shelter animals has always been the philosophy of Cat Care Society, and our office cats are given plenty of room to romp.

Prospective shelter residents are dropped off in our Receiving Room. Cats and kittens are given a complete health examination by our on-staff veterinary technician. Before entering the general population, cats are innoculated and spayed or neutered. Sick cats are quarantined in a separate area of the shelter until they're well enough to join the family.

For our general population of cats, which numbers around fifty at any one time, the shelter is divided into six cat rooms. Each room is therapeutic in color and design, giving a sense of healing, calm, revitalization, belonging, and sociability. Our holistic approach ensures that cats coming to our shelter—for the most part strays, abandoned, abused and neglected animals—will find a comforting, safe, and stress-free environment.

Each cat room is equipped with a habicat, an outdoor enclosure, where people and cats can visit and enjoy a breath of fresh air.

For your shopping pleasure, Meow Mart offers an upscale variety of clothing and home accessories, as well as pet supplies for your new companion animal. It's a cornucopia of kitty delights!

Our shelter maintenance crew is busy from early morning until the shelter closes. The new workroom is equipped with industrial washers and dryers for the four or more loads of laundry required each day.

Our friendly staff will show you around, introduce you to our resident cats, and help you find your perfect mate(s). We employ trained personnel to counsel you in resolving behavior problems, offer veterinary referrals and spay/neuter assistance.

Stop by soon and see us in person
